Oh boy what to make for dinner.

I often get frustrated with the choices made for dinner. Same old thing, too complicated, not in the mood. Found a recipe that is easy and resurrects flavors from my youth but better.

Oven Roasted Kielbasa.

Ingredients: Three Large Onions / One Green Bell Pepper / One Red Bell Pepper / Two lengths of Kielbasa & Apricot Preserves and spicy mustard for basting.

Cook It: Turn the oven on to 425. Lightly oil a baking sheet. Cut into strips the onions & peppers, put into the pan, slightly season with salt & pepper. Put into the preheated oven. Now cut the Polish Sausage half way though every 1/2″ to give more area to hold the basting goodness. ( mix together 2 tablespoons of apricot preserves & 1 tablespoon of spicy brown mustard ) Make sure you mix the vegetables to prevent burning. When the vegetables are half cooked put the sausage on top and baste heavily. Return to the oven for 10 minutes. Baste Again. Return to oven for another 10 minutes. Remove and serve with a baguette or french bread. ENJOY.

Letting Go

“Letting go of our suffering is the hardest work we will ever do. It is also the most fruitful. To heal means to meet ourselves in a new way – in the newness of each moment where all is possible and nothing is limited to the old.”
Stephen Levine (1937-2016) American Poet and Teacher

Purim a time to revel in our hidden secrets white working on the gut with hamantaschen cookies. But I could only think that this is the day in 2011 that an old guy I admired passed. So lets all Boogie Woogie our blues away with Pinetop Perkins today.

Of all the money that e’er I had
I spent it in good company
And of all the harm that e’er I’ve done
Alas it was to none but me

And all I’ve done for want of wit
To memory now I can’t recall
So fill to me the parting glass
Goodnight and joy be with you all

And of all the comrades that e’er I had
They are sorry for my going away
And all the sweethearts that e’er I had
They would wish me one more day to stay

But since it calls unto my lot
That I should rise and you should not
I’ll gently rise and I’ll softly call
Goodnight and joy be with you all

A man may drink and not be drunk
A man may fight and not be slain
A man may court a pretty girl
And perhaps be welcomed back again

But since it has so ordered been
By a time to rise and a time to fall
Come fill to me the parting glass
Good night and joy be with you all

Come fill to me the parting glass
Good night and joy be with you all.

Songwriters: Jake Gosling / Edward Christopher Sheeran
